About the course

The Level 3 Diploma in Accounting offers technical training in accounting and is ideal for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accountancy or finance.

The purpose of the Level 3 Diploma in Accounting is to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required to progress to employment in an accounting or finance role, or to further study in accountancy and finance.

•·         Management Accounting Techniques

This qualification comprises four mandatory units:

Study Options :  Weekdays / Weekend / Evening

Duration : 6 months

Who is this course suitable for?

It may be suited to students studying parttime alongside employment or to those already working in finance. This qualification will also suit those looking to gain the skills required to move into a career in finance as it provides a clear pathway towards a successful career in accounting and finance.

This qualification is a progression route for students who have achieved the Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. It’s also suitable for those who have already started their journey studying a related subject and are looking to develop their skills in accounting, or for those who have already started working in finance and who have a need and desire to attain formal recognition of their skills.

You should have completed AAT L2 Certificate in Accounting Level 2 or equivalent accounting qualification. If you have equivalent accounting qualification or experience you can check your suitability for the course at AAT Skill Check website.

What will you learn?

•       Understand business types, structures and governance, and the legal framework in which they operate

•       Understand the impact of the external and internal environment on businesses, their performance and decisions

•       Understand how businesses and accountants comply with principles of professional ethics

•       Understand the impact of new technologies in accounting and the risks associated with data security

•       Communicate information to stakeholder

•       Understand the accounting principles underlying final accounts preparation

•       Understand the principles of advanced double-entry bookkeeping

•      Implement procedures for the acquisition and disposal of non-current assets

•       Prepare and record depreciation calculations

•        Record period end adjustments

•       Produce and extend the trial balance

•       Produce financial statements for sole traders and partnerships

•       Interpret financial statements using profitability ratios

•       Prepare accounting records from incomplete information

•       Understand legislation requirements relating to VAT

•       Calculate VAT

•       Complete Review and verify VAT returns

•       Understand principles of payroll

•       Report information within the organisation 

Qualifications:

You will be awarded AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting from Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) once you have passed all the units and synoptic assessment.

Computer Based Exams (CBE)

We offer the facility to take computer-based exams for all the units and synoptic assessments at our training centre.

How it works :

  • You will learn all the units in the classroom, face to face with the tutor along with other students. 
  • You will get in-depth knowledge of each module with guided exam practice. 
  • Tutorial books for all units are included in the course fee.
